Mobile messaging media that works
When Blyk was born in January 2006, it set out to challenge some stone carved conventions in the both the telco and mobile marketing industries. Blyk felt that for mobile advertising to succeed and grow it needed to simplify the complicated mobile marketing eco-system. It had to move beyond the formats that were (and still are) replications of the early internet model, but on mobile. And it needed to enable an advertising experience that was not perceived as SPAM but was instead valued by the recipient.
In Blyk’s world advertising on mobile would not be perceived as advertising at all – but rather useful information, entertainment and offers – delivered in an easy, relevant and interactive way.
Blyk began its journey to change the existing industry behaviours and to build what it believed was a better machine.
Blyk knew that to build this mobile media machine, it needed to build the model from the ground up with complete control of the customer/user experience and end-to-end control of the network and technology. The MVNO model would enable this and was the starting point for Blyk.
In the UK, Blyk has demonstrated that its media model works and continues to build upon its achievements.
