Sean Butler

Projects

Sean is responsible for special projects at Blyk. He is a Fellow of St Edmund’s College, Cambridge, where he teaches Roman Law. He studied law at Oxford (St Edmund Hall) and the LSE, London, as well as genetics at Cambridge (CPGS) before taking his PhD in social science at Imperial College, London. He is a qualified UK solicitor, and has worked in private practice and for Royal Dutch Shell in the UK specialising in intellectual property, particularly in life sciences. As a social scientist his field of research is technology transfer, in particular academic-industry collaborations, spin-outs and patent licensing.
